| Things to do in Cala Ratjada |
Like all the resorts on the east coast the main attraction are the beaches. The largest of these is the Son Moll beach which is 170m long. There is also a lifeguard on this beach and the usual sunbeds, umbrellas and pedaloes are available for hire. There is also a few eateries in case you get peckish. The smaller beach is called Cala Gat and is 75 mts long and also offers a beach bar along with sunbeds and umbrellas for hire. The main activity is along the promenade and quay area where you will find a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants. There is a local bus service which runs from Cala Ratjada to nearby Cala Bona, Cala Millor and Sa Coma, on the East coast.
The Arta Caves are located on the coast in the municipality of Capdepera, in the Cap Vermell, surrounded by mountains that tower over the sea. Going through the towering entrance, we gain access to the chamber known as the Vestibule or Entrance Hall, where countless stalactites with prodigious shapes and extraordinary proportions hang from the high arched roof. Tall stalagmites rise up gracefully from the floor. They vaguely resemble human forms, mysterious, motionless, rigid visions
that are indifferent to human gazes, and have that imposing superiority of nature’s marvellous creations.
For golf lovers there are 4 courses nearby. The 18 hole courses are the Capdepera Golf Club, Canyamel Golf and the Pula Golf Club which is said to be the most demanding course, and the longest in Mallorca. This course is 6,208m long, par 70. There's also a 9 hole Son Severa Golf Club course at Costa de los Pinos, Son Servera. |
